Handmade Raku Style Desert Planter w/Drain

Handmade in Smithfield, RI by Steven Beauvais. Steven has been crafting unique pottery for over 20 years. Due to the handmade nature of each item, no two pieces are the same. When you purchase one of his creations, you can be sure that you truly have a one of a kind. 

This planter has a drain hole to prevent over-watering. Excess water will exit through the opening and settle in the lower rim so you can water your plants with ease!

Raku Style: Traditional raku pottery is created using low and quick heat, leaving the clay porous or cracked, leading to a piece that may leak. However, Steven uses an imitation technique, allowing his pieces to have the unique cracked appearance of Raku without sacrificing the waterproof nature of the item. Each "Raku" piece is therefore still fully functional as a planter, vase or pot. 

Note: Due to the handmade nature of each item, any imperfections are not considered defects, but rather a characteristic of the individual piece.
